Life is good

After sleeping in a couple of hours this morning Jim and I met up at 10 to go out on a long, slow ride. Jim and I both teach at the high school, so we are blessed to have the next two weeks off for Christmas and the New Year. We took advantage of our time off today going out and mountain biking over 17 miles in the classic ACFL (anacortes community forest lands) trails.
We met at my house, got a few things together and set off just after 10. The mile road ride to the trails was windy and chilled you to the bone, but once in the trails worrying about being too cold is a thing of the past. Things got a little squirlley at time due to the wet conditions, the roots and rocks were slick as snot and I experienced this upclose and personal (see below). All in all it was a great way to start our Christmas Break. Hopefully we'll be able to do a few more of these longer adventures.
(Me with a bit of a shiner, and a flesh wound) ( Jim just loving it!)
